Welcome to Northwestern Stables! 

We operate the historic Northwestern Equestrian Facility at the end of Forbidden Drive in beautiful Fairmount Park near the Chestnut Hill area.  The facility is a Fairmount Park Property that is leased to Northwestern Stables, Inc. a 501c3 Non-Profit Organization.  

 Our Mission:

1.    To serve the community by welcoming people of all ages, incomes, backgrounds and equestrian disciplines through providing affordable quality riding lessons, programs and boarding to the residents of the Philadelphia community and surrounding area.

2.   To promote and maintain the equestrian heritage of the equestrian facility and Fairmount Park through the repair and beautification of the buildings and grounds.

"A Dickens of a Christmas..." at Northwestern Stables

HOLIDAY BAZAAR SATURDAY December 10th

3-Day Special Clinic

December 27, 28, 29

3 days in a row of intensive riding instruction, with a different trainer each day.
Featuring Kathy Kerneckel, Tarah Hannes, Julianna Ciarlante.
 
Make great use of your vacation time and finesse your riding skills under the expert eyes of our accomplished equestrian staff.
Concentration on equitation, flatwork and jump skills.
Open to intermediate and advanced riders who can walk, trot, canter and jump crossrails at a minimum.
 
$170 for 3 lessons

About our lessons: We teach Children over age 8 and Adults all levels of English Riding. 

  • Upcoming 2012 Session Dates:
  • Winter One: January 3rd - February 11th ~ $300 for 6 weeks
  • Winter Two: February 13th - March 24th ~ $300 for 6 weeks
  • Spring One: March 26th - May 5th ~ $300 for 6 weeks
  • Spring Two: May 7th - June 16th ~ $300 for 6 weeks
  • Summer One: June 18th - July 28th ~ $300 for 6 weeks

Please note, we do not hold adult lessons on Saturdays.  Currently there is a wait list for new Saturday students as we are over capacity. Please contact us via e-mail for exact availability.

CONTINUING STUDENTS: To ensure your place in lessons, payment is expected BEFORE a new session begins, otherwise your space will be filled with new students.
